Mid-Career Excellence Award

The distinction of the Mid-Career Excellence Award is awarded yearly to an individual whose early career has substantially advanced ethnobotany by teaching, publishing, or practical work. The mid-career society member may work outside of an academic setting. The Chairperson of the Nominations and Awards Committee shall be responsible announcing the winner, which shall be published in the society's newsletter and on the website. The award consists of registration ($525), and a stipend ($375) to help defray other costs, as well as an opportunity for a leading talk (30 minutes instead of 15) in a session at Botany 2024.

Criteria
For the award, the impact of the candidate on the fields of Ethnobotany will be considered, which may be based on academic publications, teaching excellence, or practical work, or a combination of these. The candidate must be a society member who is mid-career, having completed their last degree approximately 10-20 years prior to the call for nominations.
