2018 Conference Travel Support

We have recently received funding from the National Science Foundation of the USA and are now accepting applications for travel support for participants in the joint conference of the Society of Ethnobiology and Society for Economic Botany, 3 to 7 June 2018, in Madison, Wisconsin, USA.

  • Are you a graduate or undergraduate student?  Did you earn a PhD no more than 3 years ago?
  • Are you a member of an Indigenous community?
  • Are you traveling from outside of the USA and Canada to participate in the conference?

If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, you may apply for financial support to participate in the conference, including a waiver of the conference registration fee.

Apply online here.

You will be asked to provide information about your school, community/tribe/nation, or the country you are coming from, and to briefly describe your planned participation in the conference and your need for financial support.

Deadline is Friday the 6th of April, 2018.

Note:  We would like to support as many people as possible, so that would mean not paying all expenses for each person.  Support is unlikely to exceed $500 for domestic applicants or $1000 for international applicants (these amounts include the registration fee waiver), and will most likely be less than these amounts.
